Minster of Carib Affairs, is Unsure of Contesting Upcoming Elections
Honourable Ashton Graneau, The current Member of Parliament for the Kalinago Territory and Minister of Carib Affairs, was put in the spotlight when he was asked spontaneously whether or not he will be contesting the next general elections, constitutionally due in 2015.
Mr. Graneau, who replaced his brother Kelly Graneau, at the 2009 general elections, said at the press conference on September 11th, that he is seriously considering not seeking re- election.
However Mr. Graneau said a lot has been done within the Kalinago Territory, since his term in office.
A number of small community based projects were also achieved during his term in office.
It was not mentioned who Mr. Graneau’s successor will be in the event that he does not contest elections.
