Modernization and Upgrade for town of Portsmouth Coming

007Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, the Honourable Roosevelt Skerrit has announced plans for the upgrade of Portsmouth to allow for far more vibrant commercial and industrial activity.

The plans are expected to include facilities for a modern walk-off cruise landing facility, shopping arcade and loading bay for the export of fresh potable water.

According to the Prime Minister the Portsmouth Enhancement Programme also includes a new government administration building; a modern bus terminal and general road and highway improvement, including the continuation of the E.O. Leblanc Highway into Sugar Loaf.

The government has already signed contracts for road improvement and sidewalks at Harbour Lane and Rodney Street,” the Prime Minister stated.

Plans are also underway for upgrades in the capital city, Roseau.
