Monroe College Gives Six Scholarships
The Monroe College, St. Lucia Campus, donated six scholarships to Dominica, including one full and five partial scholarships.
The full scholarship, valued $7,056.00 EC per semester is given in the name of the Mayor of Roseau and will be known as the Mayoral Scholarship.
The Awardee of the Mayoral Scholarship is Delia Davis of Bath Estate.
The Mayor of Roseau His Worship, Cecil Joseph says Delia had met all the requirements, being a graduate of the Dominica State College with a GPA of at least 3.0 as well as interest under priority fields of study: Hospitality Management, Accounting, Public Health, Criminal Justice and Information Technology.
The other five partial scholarships, valued $3,578.00 EC per semester, will be granted based on recommendations received from the Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development.
His Worship and the Minister of Education and Human Resource Development, Honorable Petter Saint Jean met on Thursday December 30th to finalize the recipients of the five other partial scholarships.
Names of students who have already applied to Monroe will be taken into consideration in that regard.
Upon successful completion of their studies, Monroe College will inform the Ministry of Education when a scholarship replacement will be made.
In the meantime, His Worship remains in close contact with the College for continued future relations.
Monroe College is pleased to be a partner in assisting the government in fulfilling its mandate of having a college graduate in each household by 2015.
