Nagicor Celebrates its 30th Anniversary

$10, 000 was donated to two Education Organizations, as part of Nagico’s 30th Anniversary on Friday, June 1st, 2012.

Today Nagico is the largest privately owned company in the Caribbean with more than 200 staff in 18 countries across the region. It is also a premiere Insurance provider in Dominica.

As part of the ceremony, Acting Prime Minister, Dr. John Collin Mc.Intyre commended Nagico for being a well rounded company which gives sponsorship to sporting communities around Dominica.

Honourable Petter St.Jean, Minister of Education acknowledged that Nagico has been tested as being founded on giving back to the community in which they operate.

The Education Minister commended the company for being a true partner in development, and investing in community life in Dominica.

CEO of Nagico, Mr. Imran McSood Amjad gave the feature address at the ceremony. Mr. Amjad left Guyana in 1982 to start the Insurance Company in St.Maarten with a mere $75,000.

Mr. Amjad said that their biggest challenge was Hurricane Luis of 1995 which had sustained winds of 170 miles per hour.

The donation was split between the Alpha center and the Campbell Government School. They each received $5,000 each.
