New OECS Ambassador for Dominica
The former Cabinet Secretary, Mr. Felix Gregoire, has been chosen as Dominica’s new OECS Ambassador.
Mr. Gregoire officially began his tenure on November 1st, 2012.
His duties are three-fold, including Dominica’s new Commissioner to the OECS, Ambassador to the OECS and Caricom, and Head of Regional Integration.
Being given this new post, Mr. Gregoire says that Caribbean and OECS Unity is something that he is excited about.
He says there are various reasons why we have not reached that stage yet but he is determined to see it implemented.
Mr. Gregoire took the position over from the late Charles Maynard. He had not had ample time to interact with Mr. Maynard before he passed on and says that it will be a great deal of work to fill Mr. Maynard’s shoes.
The Late Charles Maynard has worked at many levels and Mr. Gregoire says there are many lessons to be learnt from such a great man.
For the first time in History, an O.E.C.S. Heads of Government Conference will be held out of the city of Roseau.
The conference is scheduled for the 22nd and 23rd of November 2012, at Rosalie Bay.
