Newtown Primary Relocated For Commencement of New State Of The Art School

downloadAfter about a year and a half of talks on improving the conditions of the Newtown Primary School, it has now been relocated to aid in the reconstruction of a new school complex.

Students and staff at the school were moved to the Clifton Dupigny College site in Bath Estate and will remain there until construction is completed.

Students from the three lower grades, however, were not able to be housed at the premises and were moved to the Fatima Church Hall.



Honourable Petter St. Jean, Minister for Education says the construction company is on Island and that some works have begun and is still ongoing.

According to him the project is expected to be completed in a year and six months.

The Minister also revealed that within the coming school year it is hoped that all Government and secondary schools will embark on (Caribbean Vocational Qualifications) CVQ’s.
