NYC’s annual youth awards ceremony postponed to January

The National Youth Council of Dominica (NYC) has postponed its annual youth awards ceremony which is traditionally held in the month of December to January.

President of the NYC Delroy Williams says the delay is as a result of certain setbacks encountered by the council.

However, he is assuring the general public that the awards ceremony, which is one of their flagship events, will definitely take place in the month of January.

“Unfortunately, we had to postpone the awards ceremony due certain financial constraints, as we were unable to secure sponsorship for the event as well as obtaining our subvention from the Government,” he explained.

However, he says they have overridden the challenges and is now finalizing plans for the successful staging of the awards ceremony which will display youthful talents and energy.

“We are working tirelessly to make this event a reality, as we believe that the general public should be aware of not just the youth’s achievements and accomplishments, but their contribution towards national development,” says Williams.
