One month for stealing pants

One man has a month to reflect on his actions, after he pled guilty to stealing a pair of swimming trunks, from another man in his community.

 

Danny Henry of Portsmouth, who appeared before magistrate Evelina Baptiste, said he took the pair of trousers, on a beach in Portsmouth, because his pants were wet, and he did not want to catch a cold.

 

The defendant, told the court that the complainant, Mr. Andrew Obrien was his friend, and that he would have paid him, for the red and white trunks.

 

In mitigation, he went on to say that, he works as a tour guide, and don’t touch people things, because since he came out prison he has been working.

 

Before handing down the sentence, magistrate Baptiste said, the people of this country are fed up of theft, and they should be allowed to leave their things, and not have to worry about them.

 

Magistrate Baptiste revealed Henry’s long list of offenses, some of which were spent, and others recent of a similar nature as theft.

 

He was sentenced to one month in prison, for the incident that occurred on January 18th,2012.

The swimming trucks cost $217.35.
