Over eight (8) students received scholarships from First Domestic Insurance Company (FDIC)
Chief Executive Officer of First Domestic Insurance Company (FDIC), Mr Robert Tonge has said that the company’s decision to continue making annual scholarships available to Dominican students is in keeping with its corporate responsibility to develop Dominica holistically.
Mr Tonge made this remark while addressing the company’s 2010 scholarship presentation to over eight (8) students on August 23rd, 2010.
“One of the requirements is that the students must maintain an average of sixty percent (60%) every semester. If you get less that the amount, we will reduce the amount and try to encourage you to do better,” said Tonge.
Every year, scholarships are presented to students whose parents hold policies with First Domestic Insurance Company, as well as one lucky employee at the company.
At Monday’s ceremony, scholarships were presented to Alpha Dennis, Roy Bruno, Rosette Lewis, Marjel Durand, Carol Boston, Hypolite Peter Laville, Allick Honore, David Xavier and Kean Hunter.
Other awardees who were not present at the ceremony included Renneth Stephens and Paula Blancher.
First Domestic Insurance Company has been in existence for approximately seventeen (17) years.
