Paix-Bouche Eagles and Snipers Force Game Four in the National Basketball League
Saturday was a night that the basketball fans of Paix Bouche will not forget, as both of their teams who were facing elimination in the Lime National Basketball Finals being down 2-0, were not ready to disappoint their fans and give up, thereby forcing game four in the best of five series.
The first game between Raffoul Snipers and Gloria Shillingford Raptors was what we would call in basketball terms a blow out, as the Snipers came roaring out of the blocks to build an early lead on the Raptors, playing like a team that was eager to prove that they are still the top team in Division 1 League. The final scores of the game were Snipers 84 points to Raptors 56 points, top scoring for Snipers were Hendricks Holsborough with 28 points, Dave Alexis 21 points and Lenin Paul 19 points while for the Raptors Steve Hypolite scored 22 points, Curtis Akiel 10 points and Devon Barton 8 points.
In Game 2 between the Paix-Bouche Eagles and Glam X-Men, the Eagles soared to higher heights to spoil the celebrations of the X-Men who could have been National Champs with a victory. The Eagles who were not ready to give up after being blown out the night before, played on full thrusters and even while the game stayed close, the X-Men could not overcome the clutch shooting by the Eagles sharp shooters Andel George and Earl Mathew who made 3 pointers after 3 pointers when ever X-Men got close. The final scores of the game was Eagles 78 points to X-Men 67 points. Top scoring for the Eagles were Andel George with 24 points, Earl Mathew 24 points and Lynvor John 13 points while Garth Joseph scored 20 points, Davidson Toulon 16 points and Simon Joseph 13 points for the X-Men.
The games will continue for both divisions in the Lime National Basketball Finals on Wednesday at the Lindo Park in Goodwill from 7.00 pm.
