Parents called upon to adopt healthy lifestyles to be role models for the younger generation

A call has been sent to parents in the community of St. Joseph and environs to adopt healthy lifestyles, in order to be good role models for the younger generation.

This call was made by the parliamentary representative for the St. Joseph constituency, Honorable Kelver Darroux at a health fair at the St. Joseph Health Center in observance of Caribbean Wellness Day in Dominica.

‘We have to ensure that we feed our children in the correct way, to ensure that they drink enough water, exercise regularly and eat a lot of fruits’, said Darroux.

An exhibition depicting healthy foods also formed part of the health fair which was attended by students from both primary and secondary schools in the area. The public was also given the opportunity to receive free information and advice on healthy eating habits, diet and nutrition.
