Plans are well underway for the official opening of the 2011 Real Mas celebrations

 

 

The National Bank of Dominica (NBD) has demonstrated its commitment to the preservation of Dominica’s Cultural heritage by making a substantial contribution to this year’s carnival celebrations.

 

The Bank’s checque presentation of $ 31,000.00 was the highlight of the Dominica Festivals Committee’s weekly press conference which is being held in an effort to update the public on preparations for the 2011 carnival celebrations.

 

Marketing Executive Officer at the NBD, Miss Amanda Scotland says they are pleased to be making a contribution of $31,000.00 to the Dominica Festivals Committee, for sponsorship of the 2011 carnival costumes and the Portsmouth Carnival celebrations.

 

The National Bank of Dominica was just one of the many sponsors who were present at this morning’s press conference.

 

Communications Manager at Lime Dominica Limited, which is the headline sponsor for the Real Mas, Miss Ferdina Frampton announced that the company is pleased to be facilitating Britney Blanchard’s participation in the 2011 Carnival Princess show.

 

Britney is the daughter of Lime’s employee Montee Blanchard.

 

In addition to that, Lime Dominica Limited has also pledged its support to the Portsmouth Carnival celebrations.

 

Lime Dominica Limited was followed by Josephine Gabriel and Company Limited who also pledged its support to the Dominica Festivals Committee.

 

The company which has been sponsoring the Real Mas celebrations for several years will be sponsoring the Junior Calypso Monarch, among many other events.

 

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Dominica Festivals Committee (DFC) Mr. Sobers Esprit says plans are well underway for the official opening of the 2011 Real Mas celebrations, which is carded for Saturday February 12th, 2011.

 

According to Mr. Esprit, the official opening ceremony will be separated into two various categories; the speech and the entertainment segment.
