Pointe Michel Resident Yet Again in Trouble with the Law

court3.jpgA young man from Pointe Michel is yet again in trouble with the law, as he stood before Magistrate Candia George on Thursday August 1st, facing charges of theft and burglary.

Elio Edward, on the 26th of April stole 2 gold chains valued at $4,700.00 EC from Alvin Serrant. On April 28th he stole one chain on Independence Street valued at $4336.00 EC, and one gold pendant valued at $900.00 EC from Brandon Lazar, by force.

Edward pled not guilty to both charges, however magistrate Candia George denied bail on the terms that he was not a first time offender and subsequently left the country, revoking his bail conditions and having his surety to pay the fines.

The matter is set to continue on September 13th 2013.

In other Court News

Alisha Clarke of River Street appeared before Magistrate Candia George on August 1st, for stealing one Samsung phone valued at $69.00.on June 7th 2013.

Clarke who pled not guilty to the charge of theft is currently out on bail in the sum of $1,500.00, with her father as surety.

The matter was adjourned to October 11th 2013, meanwhile Magistrate Candia George cautioned the defendant to stay away from trouble and not revoke her bail conditions.
