Police continue their search for Shanice Jemmot
Acting Superintendent of Police, Claude Weekes is refuting statements rumored by the general public, that there is new information surfacing regarding the whereabouts of 15-year old Shanice Jemmot, who has been missing since February 17th, 2011.
Weekes says the police is working with other local and regional agencies, towards bringing back Shanice safely to her family.
According to Weekes, while it may appear that the police is not doing anything on the offset, intensive investigations are being carried out with the assistance of Shanice’s father, who is also a police officer.
He said that they are partnering with a number of other local agencies into developing various strategies during the recovery process.
Weekes told SAT TV News that it is rather unfortunate that persons continue to rumor wrong information on Shanice’s whereabouts, which inadvertently cause more harm than good.
He is calling on persons with credible information to report it to the police before giving the information to the general public.
Shanice Jemmot of Clarke Hall, Layou, who is now 15 years old, was reported missing on February 17th, 2011.
Anyone with information should contact the nearest police station or the Welfare Division.
