Police Report Peaceful Carnival Celebration for 2014

Following two days of Carnival fete on Monday March 3rd and Tuesday March 4th, the police are reporting a peaceful Carnival 2014.

Police Chief, Daniel Carbon says, from reports received, Carnival was very peaceful Island-wide, including in the districts of Grand bay, Marigot, Kalinago Territory, St. Joseph, Mahaut, Salisbury and Roseau.

Mr. Carbon commended the DFC – Dominica Festivals Committee for a tremendous job in organizing for the Carnival, in addition to the members of the Boyoun bands who cooperated with the Police.

He says, the police will continue putting procedures in place, to ensure future events of this magnitude will be just as successful.

Meanwhile, Acting Minister for National Security, Honourable Alvin Bernard says, Carnival was indeed a success and all those who participated must be commended for their hard work.

Carnival celebrations came to a close at 10:00 pm on Tuesday March 4th, with thousands of revellers taking to the streets for the Last Lap Jump Up in Roseau.
