The Police Symposium took place yesterday November 25th, 2010, at The Cabrits National Park, Portsmouth. This Symposium was held with the students of The Portsmouth Secondary School and The Saint John’s Primary School, due to the increase of crime and violence in the schools of the area. Superintendent of The Portsmouth Police Station, Mr. Duke Severin, said that as a new approach of misbehavior prevention from The Police Force, it is critical to look at the underlying causes of the problems affecting the youth today.

Head of The University of The West Indies Open Campus Dominica, Dr. Francis Severin said that the youth, singling out the young boys, needs to know the value of their time in this world in order to make a positive change in their behavioral as well as disciplinary patterns that are necessary to succeed in this world.
