Public Service Day Activities: OECS Integration Panel Discussion
As part of Public Service Day Activities 2012, a panel discussion on OECS integration and its implications for the public service was held on Wednesday, September 19th.
President of Dominica State College (DSC) Mr. Donald Peters says Education is a very important yet expensive industry.
Mr. Peters went on to say that an education is critical and Governments throughout the Caribbean are recognizing that they need to establish an education system that could educate the people suitably and efficiently.
General Secretary of Dominica Public Service Union Mr. Thomas Letang stated what he saw recently as the positive move by the leaders of the OECS.
Mr. Letang believes there are many things the things that we need to bear in mind and grateful for such as leave entitlements.
He says in some territories the leave entitlement of 12 weeks may be extended to 14 weeks.
