Public Urged to Donate to Assist Critically Ill Dominican
We all need to be our brother’s keeper and this is no different for a well-known Dominican who is critically ill and needs to be airlifted to Martinique for urgent medical assistance.
Phillip “Brain Damage” Giraudel Junior needs all the help he can get to make this medical trip possible.
His close friend, Calypsonian Narrin “Trendsetter” Murphy says, he considers Giraudel a brother.
“He is currently at the Princess Margaret Hospital and based on the results that have been carried out so far, it has been recommended that he be flown to Martinique for further medical evaluation and treatment,” Murphy explained.
He said it is in that, regard that they are soliciting the assistance of the public, to make any contribution they can to assist to make this medical trip and treatment possible which is a very costly venture.
Murphy said, no donation is too small and is urging the public to please make an effort to assist, as it will be appreciated.
A car wash to aid Giraudel’s medical trip will take place on Saturday June 21st at T & R Auto Garage in Castle Comfort near Courts from 10:00 am.
Murphy is urging motorists to show up in large numbers to support.
A Triple Kay Jam is scheduled for Saturday June 21st from 9:00 pm, compliments the band members who are friends of Giraudel and are hosting this event to raise funds for him.
Persons not interested in the event can simply stop by to make their contribution and leave.
Account number 100071112 has been set up at the National Bank of Dominica, and persons from the Diaspora can add the Bank’s swift code ‘NCDMDMDM.’
Account number 100-108-0 has also been set up at the Royal Bank of Canada for persons wishing to donate to the Phillip Giraudel Junior Medical Fund.
Pinky’s Nail Saloon located in River Street is also part of the fund raising, and will host specials this weekend where, 50% of the proceeds will go to the Phillip Giraudel Junior Medical Fund.
“So we really trying and calling on the Dominica public to help – he is a father, a son, a good friend, mechanic and someone we hold dear to our heart, and told it could be him needing the help and tomorrow it could be anyone of us,” Murphy pointed out.
Giraudel’s Typhoon scooter is also on sale for $10,000 to raise funds, interested persons call 275-3492.
