Public Works Minister dismiss public allegations of ‘playing politics’
Minister responsible for Public Works and Public Utilities, Honorable Rayburn Blackmoore has dismissed allegations by critics, who say that his ministry is only undertaking projects in communities that voted for the present government.
Mr Blackmoore told the media earlier this week, that such allegations are vague and is an attempt to ruin the reputation of the Roosevelt Skerrit-led administration.
According to him, the government’s main aim is to provide a better standard of living for Dominicans, and this is being manifested through the many infrastructural projects that are currently being implemented across the island.
Mr Blackmoore says that the Ministry of Public Works is also pleased with the level of progress that is being made across the country to enhance the island’s road infrastructure.
Earlier this week, the government awarded a $22.3 million contract for road rehabilitation works in the communities of Pointe Michel and Scotts Head.
Mr Blackmoore views this project as one that is of great importance, since it is the only road leading to the town of Roseau from these twin communities.
