Public Works Minister Speaks on Effects of Storm Chantal

With the passage of Tropical Storm Chantal, which affected Dominica coming to an end on the evening on Tuesday July 9th, after the tropical storm watch was discontinued, preliminary reports indicate that there was no significant damage.

Minister of Public Works, Energy and Ports, Honourable Rayburn Blackmoore says, a full assessment is currently being conducted by his Ministry to disseminate to the public.

Mr. Blackmoore said there were crews out on the in morning on Wednesday July 10th following the storm clearing landslides and other debris in the road, to make sure traffic could flow uninterrupted.

He noted, although his Ministry has been working feverishly to restore the affected areas back to normal, the persons in the communities have to lend their efforts in clearing debris in their areas also.
