Queen Marcia urges the 2011 carnival queen contestants to put God first in everything that they do
The 2010 carnival queen, Ms Marcia Baptiste, has described her reign as Miss Dominica as challenging, yet rewarding.
While speaking to SAT TV News on January 6th 2011, at the official launch of the 2011 carnival season, Queen Marcia said that she has had many great experiences during her reign as Miss Dominica 2010.
In her effort to encourage the 2011 contestants, she advised them to always put god first in everything that they do in order to be victorious, especially at pageantry.
“For young ladies who want to take part in pageantry in the future, they should ensure that they have a solid team behind them because they will not be able to do it on their own,” said Queen Baptiste.
Miss Baptiste said that although she will be handing over the crown very soon, she will continue rendering her services to her community and Dominica by extension.
“Anything which involves community development and any groups that contributes to nation building and developing the youth, I am for it,” said the Queen.
She represented Dominica in a number of regional pageants and is the reigning Miss Caribbean World and Miss Jaycees 2010.
In addition, she also captured the second runner up position in the Miss Carival and Miss Hibiscus Caraibes Pageants.
