Registration still open at Irie Eco Summer Program
While the summer kicks into high gear, students or children between the ages of 5 to 11 wishing to join a summer program, may still have time to do so.
The 4th International Irie Eco children’s summer program which started at Alliance Francaise on July 12th is still open for registration, and is promising its students tons of funs in an eco-friendly style.
The volunteers are also seeking donations from cooperative citizens and companies, who may be willing to provide snacks for the children or other contributions.
One of the volunteer Leis Shroe said that during the program, the participants will learn about the country’s biodiversity and wildlife, while focus will be placed on the introduction of two foreign languages: french and spanish.
“The summer program is for four weeks and it is facilitated by an international team with volunteers from all over the world. We work together with the children in an eco-friendly manner. We play games, we do outdoor activities like visiting the hot pools, the forest and so on,” said Shroe.
During the four weeks, the students will take part in a number of adventurous activities including a historical tour with historian Lennox Honychurch and wacky rollers adventures.
The organizers say that the level of interest by the students is overwhelming.
“The children love the program, they are really enthusiastic, they come every morning ready with plenty energy to undertake the activities,” said Shroe.
The program will continue at the Alliance Francaise building up to August 13th. Classes are held from 8am to 4pm on Mondays to Thursdays and 8am to 1pm on Fridays.
