Honorable Peter St. Jean is sounding out a call to all Dominicans to exercise unity to move Dominica forward.

 

He made the statement at the opening ceremony of the south eastern district cultural semi-finals, held at the Delices primary school on the 8th of October.

The night was filled with many performances from single performers and also local cultural groups which entertained the crowd.

 

The Delices cultural group led by Priscilla Darroux was one of the top performers of the night taking home the win for (children), flirtation (adults), heel and toe (children) and also mazook (adults).

 

The upheavals cultural group led by Annette Fagan won quadrille and Kweyol song (adults).

 

First place for Kweyol song (children) and creative dance (adults) went to the grand fond cultural group led by Shirley George, while first place for mouth organ (adults) went to Johnnie Eusebe of La Plaine.

 

First place for both drumming ensemble (children) and belle (children) went to the Jones Beaupierre primary school led by Verna Frederick, while the morne Jaune cultural group led by Bernadette robin won creative dance (children) and the Boetica cultural group led by Verna Frederick won belle (children).
