Ronnie Isidore Responds to UWP Statement to Denounce his Candidacy
After thoroughly reviewing the statement, former United Workers Party (UWP) candidate for the Mahaut constituency, Senator Ronnie Isidore has said that claims made against him by members of the UWP are absolutely untrue.
“It is absolutely not true that I have violated or breached the party’s trust in positioning the party to win the Mahaut constituency”, he said.
On May 14th 2014, President of the Party, Ezekiel Bazil announced that Isidore, would no longer be contesting the next general elections, citing reasons like trust and respect for the leadership of the Party for the dismissal.
Isidore believes that he has carried out his duties with utmost respect for the leadership of the party, aiding its advancement along the way and added that he will continue to push to develop the constituency.
The Party will decided whether or not Isidore will remain as senator during the UWP’s next General Council meeting. No date has yet been set.
