Roseau Primary School Wins Spelling Bee Competition

Shanella Buckmire and Stephalia Hurtault of the Roseau Primary School emerged as the winners of the West Dominica Children’s Frederation 2011 Primary Schools Spelling Competition on Thursday, June 30th.

 

The school won with a total of 350 points and were closely followed by the St. Mary’s Primary School, represented by Dashaun Williams and Milan Philbert, with 340 points.

 

Danisha Langlais and Nathan Laville of the Roosevelt Douglas Primary School placed 3rd.

 

The best speller of the finals award went to Dashaun Williams of the St. Mary’s Primary School. However, Danisha Langlais captured the award for overall best speller.

 

The West Dominica Children’s Federation aims at promoting healthy secure infants, educated and confident children and empowered and involved youth.

 

The Massacre, Soufriere and St. John’s primary schools also participated in the final segment of the spelling bee competition.
