ROSS opens the St James Academic Center at Portsmouth
Prime Minister of Dominica, Honorable Roosevelt Skerrit has commended the Ross University School of Medicine for their growing commitment and contribution to Dominica’s economy, more so, in the area of health.
The Prime Minister made this commendation while addressing the grand opening of the St James Academic Center in Portsmouth on Monday, February 28th, 2011.
The center, which was built in honor of Dr John St James, who served at Ross University from 1998 to 2010, boasts of a simulation center and a technology-advanced 500-seater classroom.
Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at ROSS, Dr Gannady Raskin read an address on behalf of Dr St James, who was unable to attend the function to thank the many persons who made his dream become a reality.
President of ROSS, Dr Thomas C. Shepherd says this gesture shows the institution’s commitment and loyalty in ensuring that all their students receive adequate practical skills in their quest to become health professionals.
Prime Minister of Dominica, Honorable Roosevelt Skerrit says the relationship between Ross University School of Medicine and the people and government of Dominica will continue to flourish, as they aspire to adopt the same goal of fostering a healthy nation.
The 16,000 square feet facility contains 15 LCD screens, 3 high definition projectors, cordless microphones and touch screen PCs, among other amenities, which will be available to all ROSS students for training and simulation exercises.
