Rotaract Club of Roseau commended at the International Food Fair

Rotaract Club of Roseau has been singled out for its contribution to the success of the annual International Food Fair. The club has been providing voluntary assistance since the inception of the event which is geared toward raising funds for the Roseau Cathedral renovation project.

“I must tell you I am very pleased with the Rotaract Club for the years they have been here with us,” said coordinator Dr. Bernard Yankee.

More than ten Rotaractors assisted in organizing the venue, crowd control and sharing of food at the event on Sunday June 27th.

Dr. Yankee told Rotaractors that service is important, having himself come from a line of service.

“You as young people believe that you have to give your time to voluntary service and leadership and I see the potential for great leadership in you all,” he said.

In turn Dr. Yankee volunteered his time to the club adding, “When I see people like you volunteer I know we have a core of leaders for the future.”

The international food fair was described as a success, having generated several thousands of dollars.
