Due to their efforts, the members of the Rotaract Club of Roseau, who have been committed to be of service to local communities and, earned several awards at the Annual District Conference hosted last weekend.

The Rotaract Club of Tobago and South West Tobago hosted the Rotaract District 7030 27th Annual Conference from Friday 17th – Monday 20th May 2013, to plan and shape the future of the District while building on the work of past leaders.

The Club was recognized with the awards of Community Service Project of the Year and District Project of the Year.

The deserving Community Service project, dubbed “The Roseau Street Clean Up” was hosted during the World Rotaract Week, in collaboration with Dominica’s Fire Service and the Roseau City Council.

However, the District project of the year, the A’Gana project which commenced on November 21st 2012, was executed to address the deficiencies of training programs for youth in our communities.

This is an ongoing project sponsored by the youth Development Division of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports in collaboration, with partners of the Americas and the United State Agency for International Development (USAID).

The Club was also nominated for the International Service Project of the Year; a six month project in which different committees were charged with depicting a country through scrapbooking, food and international wear. Antigua emerged victorious.

The Rotaract Club of Roseau is incredibly humbled and honoured by the recognition and support of the Rotaract 7030 District Family.

President Elect Ms. Tyisha Williams, received the awards on behalf of the Club promising to capture more awards at next year’s District Conference “in the spirit of service”.

The Club will be hosting the Fathers’ Day Draw on June 15th 2013, for two prize winners with a full spa treatment at the Glam, and dinner for two at Old Stone Grill.
