San Sauveur Prepares for Fete Isidore
Fete Isidore celebrations will be held in the village of San Sauveur from Wednesday June 4th to 9th 2014.
An awards ceremony on Wednesday June 4th at the San Sauveur Primary School is the first activity, where 14 women farmers will be honored and given farming tools and fertilizer to assist them on their farms.
The farmers are Marcielline Antoine, Marietta Laurent, Theresa Lawrence, Royette Seraphine, Stephanie Seraphine, Vignette Toussaint, Rosiette James, Edmay Titre, Christina Titre, Martha Toussaint, Roselyn Seraphine, Isaline Durand, Yvonne Laurent and Monique Charles.
Friday June 6th is Traditional Night in Good Hope featuring the Black Devils, Lapeau Kabwit and other aspects of Dominica’s culture.
Saturday June 7th is Fish Night featuring the WCK band and a Sports day is planned for Sunday June 8th.
On Monday June 9th, activities culminate with a mass, during which a cultural elder will be honoured, in addition to an exhibition and cultural expo.
Organisers say proceeds from this year’s activities are expected to go towards the refurbishment of the over 100-year -old presbytery.
