Serious Offenders Walk as Part of Criminal Assizes for September 2012
In the case of the State vs. Shane Degallerie, who was accused of murder, the trial will begin on September 26th, 2012. Zena Dyer and Gena Dyer Monroe will be representing the accused.
While in the case of the State vs. Charbert Alexander, the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) offered no evidence and the matter was withdrawn.
Yet another case was discontinued in Tuesday’s sitting as the DPP offered no evidence in the case against Jackie Languedoc where he was accused of murder.
Attorney Darius Jones represents Mr. Clement Labassiere in a case where he was accused of murder, which has been adjourned to October 8th, 2012.
Raymond Thomas pleaded guilty to inflicting grievous bodily harm, in an incident occurred on May 11th 2011 in Petite Soufriere, where reports stated that Mr. Thomas inflicted grievous bodily harm upon Franklyn Vigilant.
The trial will begin on the 19th November 2012.
Rodney Charles, Kennie George, Sherwin George, Miguel Xavier, Akers Xavier and Kerry Xavier all pleaded not guilty to grievous bodily harm.
The incident occurred on the 14th March 2010 where reports indicate that the men inflicted grievous bodily harm on Kennith Horseford in Wotten Waven.
The matter was adjourned to the 29th of October 2012 with Glen Ducreay, Wayne Norde and Peter Alleyne representing all 6 defendants.
And lastly, Toscatee Eliazord can now sleep easily. This is because the DPP have filed a notice of discontinuance against him for his manslaughter case.
Gene Pestaina, the Director of Public Prosecutions said that they have concluded that Mr. Eliazord’s case should be seen as a justifiable homicide.
The incident involved a Mr. Edwards, who took the defendant in his bus, to Petro Caribe and reportedly made sexual advances on the young man. Mr. Eliazord resisted and in doing so he gave a blow to Mr. Edwards’ neck and fled the scene.
He later reported the incident to the Police.
Later that day, Mr. Edwards succumbed to his injuries while he was driving his bus in the Massacre area, when the bus crashed and Mr. Edwards died.
