Seven to vie for Miss DSC Mas Jamboree 2011
Seven students will vie for the coveted title of Miss DSC Mas Jamboree 2011 at the Harlem Plaza on March 4th, 2011.
The seven young ladies will be featured in the first segment of the three part event which is being sponsored by Vita Malt and Lime Dominica Ltd.
Lecturer at the DSC Mr. Edgar Hunter says the College Mas Jamboree is in keeping with their mandate of creating a cultural awareness on the campus.
There will also be a calypso show featuring some of Dominica’s top calypsonians as well as a few students of the DSC such as former calypso King Observer who is enrolled in the nursing programme and Tasha P who is enrolled in the tourism programme at the college.
The calypso show will be followed by a mini band splash which will feature KVFD, Xcess Groove and the WCK Band.
President of the Dominica State College Dr. Donald Peters says the institution takes pleasure in making their contribution to the
preservation and promotion of Dominica’s carnival.
Meanwhile, Communications Manager at Lime Dominica, Miss Ferdina Frampton says the company is pleased to endorse this activity.
The DSC Mas Jamboree which was initiated in 2010 is a daytime event which targets secondary and college students and therefore security will be provided by one of Dominica’s top security agency together with the Dominica Police Force. There will also be a zero tolerance policy on the sale and use of alcohol at the event which is strictly student ID orientated.
