Several Groups and individuals secure spots to perform at the National Cultural Gala
Several groups and individuals secured positions to perform at the National Cultural Gala, after they made it through the Cultural finals over the weekend.
Cultural Finals part one (1) was held in Marigot while Part two (2) was held at Ma Tutu’s Park in Grand Bay and Part three (3) at the Cabrits Cruise Ship Berth in Portsmouth.
The various groups and individuals competed in a number of segments such as the Bele, Mouth Organ, Creative Dance, Quadrille, Creole Song, Flirtation, Waltz, Heel and toe, Mazouk, Konte and Kokoy tory to name a few. T
he best of these will be displayed at the National Cultural Gala on November 03rd, 2010 at the Botanical Gardens in Roseau.
The Local Government Department also presented plaques to several individuals in recognition of their significant contribution towards the development of Culture on the island.
