Several teams record victories in the 2011 Lime National Basketball League

 

In an exciting start to the 2011 Lime National Basketball League, Pichelin Pistons and Maximum Building Supplies Tigers were among the many teams which recorded victories, over the weekend.

 

Although the first game of evening started over an hour late due to the late arrival Pistons team, it was worth the wait as the game produced the much anticipated excitement that fans would love to see every night.

 

At the end of regulation the game ended 61 to 61, forcing overtime and it look like neither of the teams wanted to take control, fortunately for the Pistons they began to make their free throws and pulled off the victory. 

 

The final scores were Pichelin Pistons 67 to Laplaine Avengers 63. Top scoring for Pistons were K .Thomas with 20 points and D. Xavier with 21 points, while for Laplaine Kwamie Eusebe scored a game high of 36 points with support coming from H. Toussaint who scored 11 points.

 

The second game of the evening saw the newcomers Jolly's Crossovers take on the more experience Maximum Building Supplies Tigers, which turned out to be an easy first victory for tigers. The final scores Maximum Building Supplies Tigers 71 points to Crossovers 50 points. Top scoring for Tigers were Tony Lee with 22 points, I. Brumant with 15 points and veteran Curtis John with 14 points while only M. Edwards reach double figures scoring 10 points for Crossovers.

 

The Lime 2011 Basketball League continued on Saturday with two games in the Kubuli/Vita Malt Division 1 League, to conclude the first week of basketball.

 

Game one saw newcomers Ian Douglas Patriots easily defeating the law men; the Police Sports Club by 71 to 56 points. The half time score was 25 points Patriots to Police 15 and the police never got closer eventually losing by 15 points.

 

Top scorers for Patriots were Marlon Hilaire with 32 points and Kymani Thomas with 10 points while Floyd Theodore scored 13 points and Englebert Defoe scored 11 points for the Police Sports Club.

 

In Game two defending Division 1 champion, Wesley Raptors destroyed new comers Black Knights by 28 points. The final scores were Raptors 64 points to Black Knights 36 points. Top scorers for Raptors were Curtis Akiel with 22 points and Tim Telemaque with 13 points. G.Hiliare scored 22 points for the Black Knights.

 

The games will continue tomorrow, Wednesday at the Lindo Park in The Kubuli Division 1 League.

 

Tomorrow, in game 1, NBD Original X-Men will come up against Morne Prosper Ballers while Grand Fond will face Goodwill Starz in game 2.

 

On Thursday Ian Douglas Patriots will battle against Kelver Darroux Hurricanes in the first game of the evening, while Massacre Black Hawks will play against Element Agencies Ole Sckool in the second game.

 

All games will be played at the Lindo Park in Goodwill.

 

There will no games on Good Friday and Easter Saturday.
