Six New Comers to Represent Dominica in Windward Islands Senior Men’s Championship
A total of six new comers have been selected to represent Dominica at the revived Windward Islands Senior Men’s Championship, which will kick off in St. Vincent and the Grenadines from April, 21st to 25th.
The 18 man squad was selected after several weeks of preparation and includes a few seasoned campaigners in the persons of Collin Bernard, Glenson Prince, Delbert Dailey and Kurlson Benjamin.
Goalkeeper Elijah Toulon, Nilster George, Matthew Egbert Walsh, Lex Mility, Noran Jno Hope and Romario Burgins are the players making their debut.
Striker, Kurlson Benjamin, has been entrusted with the captain’s arm band, replacing Glenson Prince, who maintained his position in goal. Benjamin will have Chad Bertrand as his deputy.
Head coach of the team Kirt Hector, expressed confidence that his charges will give a good account of themselves.
Dominica will open its campaign on Sunday match day one, against St Lucia.
In the second encounter, on Tuesday, Dominica will take on host country St. Vincent and the Grenadines and the team will feature against Grenada in their last encounter on Thursday.
