South City Grand Bay Cops Miss Wob Title Again
Representing the South, Miss Cotella Defoe of Grand Bay, captures the Miss Wob Dwiyet crown.
First Runner up, Miss Jewel Brown, representing the Southwest, took the Best in Wob and Best Talent awards.
Eight contestants vied for the title in talent, creole spectacular wear, and wob dwiyet rounds.
Jewel Brown who wants to become an executive chef, and wants to have her own cooking show on the Food Network. In her talent round, Jewel says helping Dominica is as easy as A, B, C, D.
The second runner-up, Ms. Vilma Lewis, representing the north, makes fun of the Government telling the people to clean up and keep clean and green.
Ashma Auguiste from the East, received the award for Best Wob.
The winner, Ms. Cotella Defoe, sent a message to her fellow Dominicans.
She says they should love their culture and embrace it, instead of foreign cultures.’
She says that there are enough examples in Dominica for the young people to follow, including, Mickel Ferrol, the St. Luke’s Primary School, and the Grand Bay Primary School.
The show took place at the Old Mill Cultural Center on Thursday night.
In 2011, the title was won by another Grand Bay contestant, Zanya Elizee.
