Sports Division to Host Inaugural Primary Schools 10/10 Cricket Festival

The Sports Division is pleased to announce that it will host the inaugural Primary Schools 10/10 Cricket Festival on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at the Botanic Gardens from 10:00 am.

This festival will feature the following schools which topped their districts in the festivals held on May 5th and 6th:

1.     R.D.P.S. – North District

2.     Calibishie – North East District

3.     Salisbury – West District

4.     Sineku – East District

5.     Delices – South East District

6.     Grand Bay – South District

7.     Soufriere – South West District

8.     Mahaut – West Central District


The Sports Division hopes that the festival will serve as an avenue to increase interest in the sport among juniors and provide an exciting platform for the further development of cricket skills at this age group.

The festival is the culmination of the Sports Division’s Cricket Development Programme for the academic year 2013/14 that began in October 2013 at primary schools with the commencement of the Coaching Caravan.

The top school and the runner-up will be presented with trophies at the Schools Sports Awards at the Dominica State College on Saturday, July 5th.
