St. Joseph opening of carnival
St. Joseph was the place to be on saturday January 4th, as it was the opening of carnival for the village.
In recognition to the passing of the late Jeff Joseph who comes from the community, there was a group of persons in the band, wearing t-shirts with the face of the fallen cadence legend.
There were also fans of the ambassador, with posters of his face and signs of in loving memory to honour the St. Joseph native, who made a name for himself in the music industry.
2012 carnival queen contestant, Ms. Kimberly Jno Charles who also comes from st. Joseph, was all smiles as she paraded through the streets of her village, with many supporters cheering her on while dancing to the boyoun and also calypso music.
The parade was filled with bright colours, as there were persons dressed in their costumes, as well as the traditional sensay, while on lookers lined the streets to view the event as it unfolded.
The crowd enjoyed the music of the triple kay band, who was the only band providing hi fi music to the patrons, as they enjoyed themselves throughout the parade, dancing on the streets of the village.
