St.Joseph’s Carnival is Approcaching

Carnival is a festive season which brings all Dominicans together regardless of what part of the world they live in, race or colours.

It typically involves a public celebration or parade combining some elements of a circus, mask and public street party.

On January 26th, the community of St. Joseph will launch their carnival from 2:30 pm however; the truck is expected to be on the streets from 3:00pm.

PRO of St. Joseph Committee Mr. Conrad Oprah Shillingford, expects the people to dress up during the celebrations, which mark an overturning of daily life.

Mr. Shillingford also added that this year he believes more individuals will be involved since there are many people from St. Joseph partaking in certain events for 2013.

He says the costumes worn at last year’s Jouvert will also be used this year as part of their opening and Tripple K will be performing on the streets of St. Joseph as they did last year.

Mr. Shillingford believes that St. Joseph is the most important village when it comes to the Real Mas.

He says anyone who wants to enjoy carnival should come down to St. Joseph.

It has been four years since the village has been hosting their annual carnival opening.

Carnival is categorically the most festive season in Dominica.

It is hard to miss the fervour of the community’s loyalty to their favourite calypsonian or pageant during the preceding months of the Calypso Final and the National Queen Show.

For the best in entertainment, this is why Mr. Shillingford believes that the public should attend St. Joseph’s Carnival.
