St. Lucia claimed first innings points over Grenada in Cricket Match
Over at the Benjamin’s Park in Portsmouth, St. Lucia claimed first innings points over Grenada in their drawn encounter, when Grenada batted first after being invited to do so and scored 160 all out.
Devon Smith top scored with 51, Lindon Lawrence scored 30 and Keon George added 22.
Alex Antoine was the most successful bowler for St. Lucia, taking four for 49.
In reply, Johnson Charles scored 35 as St. Lucia reached 169 all out, for an overall lead of nine runs.
For Grenada, Denis George claimed seven for 62 and Josh Thomas bagged two for 42.
Batting a second time, Grenada reached 161 all out.
Lindon Lawrence led the way with 54 and Devon Smith added 35.
Set a victory target of 152, St. Lucia closed on 104 for six with Mervin Bell unbeaten on 38.
For Grenada Nelon Pascal claimed three for 24 and Eamon Alexander took two for 21.
When the third and final round bowls of on Wednesday, after Tuesday’s rest day, Dominica will take on St. Lucia at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium, while Grenada and St. Vincent and the Grenadines will do battle at the Benjamin’s Park in Portsmouth.
Both matches are carded to begin from 9am.
After two rounds of matches, Dominica leads with 15 points, followed by St. Vincent and the Grenadines and St. Lucia with 10 points each.
Grenada occupies the cellar position with 3 points.
