Status of Forth Roseau River Bridge
Progress in the construction of the forth Roseau river bridge is noticeable to by passers, and the general public is eagerly anticipating its completion as this development seeks to alleviate traffic congestion in the city.
It can be noted that the construction of the third bridge has already made a difference in the rush hour congestion.
And now with the advent of the fourth bridge which forms part of the Roseau to Portsmouth Road Rehabilitation Project, funded by the Republic of China in excess of one hundred million dollars ($100,000 000 ec), it is hoped that the problem of traffic congestion will be completely eradicated.
There are currently forty Dominicans employed on the project.
Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Public Works, Energy and Ports, Lucien Blackmoore says the purpose of this site meeting is to ensure that the project is well managed and is within the scheduled timeline and planned budget.
Officials of the Government of Dominica along with Chinese Officials present at the site meeting on Tuesday 14th December, included the Site Coordinator, Hao Jing, Communications Manager, Jiang Xiaorje, Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Public Works, Energy and Ports, Lucien Blackmoore, Acting Chief Technical Officer, Emile Lancelot, Project Coordinator, Brent Destouche, Senior Engineer and Project Manager of the Roseau to Portsmouth Road Rehabilitation Project and Project Manager, Casani Laville.
