Strategies on stream to remedy gender-based violence
One top health official has said that the Ministry of Health cannot mount a true health response to gender-based violence, without focusing their attention on both sexes.
Dominica’s Health Minister, Honorable Julius Timothy announced at the 39th Annual General meeting of the Caribbean Family Planning Association, that strategies are being put in place to focus more on family planning on the island.
The minister says one of the major concerns of the Dominica Planned Parenthood Association is the issue of domestic violence reported by both male and female partners.
The Association is currently putting strategies in place to deal with this issue.
The minister says the Ministry of Health will be partnering with the Dominica Planned Parenthood Association to focus on men-friendly health services, since the males are said to be behind in the developmental process.
