Teachers Urged to Attend Education Information Discussion Session
Teachers are being urged to attend an Education Program Information Session, to better their skill so they can raise the level of education being taught to their students.
This came from Marketing and Outreach Officer of the University of the West Indies (UWI) Open Campus Dominica, Ms. Kimone Joseph.
Ms. Joseph says that this information session is aimed at teachers and other wishing to take up a career in the field of education.
She said there is an open invitation to these people, so they can have a discussion as to programs involved in the education sector.
This will include discussions on their Bachelor’s Programs, Diploma’s, Certificates, Masters and Post Graduate Diploma Degrees in education.
She stated that it is very important that teachers have the theoretical knowledge of what they are doing, and while the practical work is very important, the two must work hand in hand.
With that Ms. Joseph says UWI recognizes it is very important that teachers are trained properly, so that it will enable them to teach more effectively and have a better management of their students.
Ms. Joseph says teachers themselves should understand the importance of being qualified, to climb from where they are to where they would like to be in their profession.
With this qualification they will do much better in their respective fields of work, as we live in a very competitive world.
The programs are flexible to suit every teacher’s busy schedule.
The long term goal of this information session is to make teachers more aware of the programs UWI have available for them, so they can apply and enroll to be actively engaged in the programs especially suited for them.
The session is free of charge and will take place on Friday January 4th at the UWI Open Campus from 10 am to 11:30 am.
