The 16 Day Activism Ends With A Peace And Love Concert

A series of community outreach programmes on gender based violence which was held throughout the week as part of the 16 day activism against gender violence, ended just moments ago with a Peace and Love Concert.

Under this initiative, volunteers visited several targeted communities including Tarish Pit as they sought to sensitize the public on gender based violence.

Director of The Bureau of Gender Affairs, Ms Rosie Browne says there is need for persons to report violent incidents, as she advised the public to contact The Bureau of Gender Affairs, The Dominica National Council of Women or The National Men’s Forum, regarding reports of abuse, whenever necessary.

Ms Browne believes that positive values are key in the eradication of gender based violence, the most important being a spiritual lifestyle.

Ms Browne feels that such social matters should be tackled; as she called out for more volunteers to aid in the initiative.
