The CHS successfully hosts its first ever under 15 Netball Championship
Several High schools were presented with participation awards when the Convent High School (CHS) held the closing ceremony of its first ever under 15 Netball Tournament on Monday November 8th, 2010.
Minister of Education and Human Resource Development, Honourable Petter Saint Jean commended the Principal and staff of the CHS for conceptualizing the tournament which was geared at instilling the spirit of sportsmanship in the students.
“I believe that tournaments such as these focuses on the holistic development of our children, as they stimulate them to not only excel in academics but in other realms of life.”
While congratulating all those who played an active role in making the tournament a success, Principal of the Convent High School Mrs Josephine Dublin applauded the participants for the high level of discipline displayed during the tournament.
She said “while we are elated that the Convent High School has captured the championship, we would like to challenge the other participants to increase their level of competition in their quest to obtain the title next year.”
The Championship was captured by the Convent High School. Other teams who participated in the tournament were the Dominica Grammar School, the Wesley High School and the St. Martins Secondary School.
