The DLP begin their series of town hall meeting in the Kalinago Territory
Residents in the Kalinago community have been advised to take advantage of the many educational opportunities being made available to them, by the Dominica Labour Party administration.
This call was made by the Minister for Tourism and Legal Affairs, Honorable Ian Douglas while addressing the first of a series of town hall meetings held in Sineku last week.
The meeting is expected to be an open forum where Dominicans will be given the opportunity to voice their concerns, before the next budget presentation.
Douglas told the meeting that the government has over the years, recognized the importance of investing in the country’s human resource base through education.
He believes that the decision to provide for educational opportunities to Dominicans like the provision of scholarships will benefit the country in the short-to-medium term.
The Minister of Tourism also called on the Kalingo people to continue investing and developing their skills in order to build the Kalinago community, which is one of the island’s niche tourism markets.
