The Dominica Police Sports Club to participate in the 2011 Regional Basketball Tournament
The Dominica Police Sports Club is soliciting the support of the general public in securing their participation at the 2011 regional basketball tournament, which will be held in Bahamas from February 7th to 12th, 2011.
In that regard, the Police Sports Club which has already held several fundraising events, will be hosting a dance featuring the renowned Swinging Stars Band, which will be held this Saturday, January 29th, at the Police Headquarters grounds.
One of the members of the club Constable Danglen L. (Lenny) says while the club is grateful to its many sponsors who have already contributed to the cause, they are encouraging Dominicans to support the dance this weekend.
Constable Dangleben says a total of ten teams are scheduled to participate in the tournament.
Another member of the club, Special Constable Benjamin G. (Gary) says their participation in such a tournament will enable the officers to build a greater bond among the units of the various participating countries.
A grand basketball-o-rama will also be held at the Ma Tutu’s Park in Grandbay on Sunday, January 30th, 2011, as part of the fundraising drive.
Tickets for the dance can be purchased from officers at the Police Headquarters.
