The Government of Dominica to seek additional funds for the Laudat Road Development Project
While the Laudat Road Rehabilitation Project is now eighty (80) percent complete, the Government of Dominica is now seeking an additional 10 million dollars to complete the project.
This confirmation came from the Minister of Employment, Trade, Industry and Diaspora Affairs, Honorable Collin McIntyre during an interview with SAT TV News.
Honorable McIntyre explained that during the inception of the project, provisions were not made for the drainage component, and so, these additional funds will be needed to construct concrete drains in Laudat.
The minister says while finance is one of the many challenges affecting the project, the government is committed to ensuring that the drainage component remains a priority, in keeping with the required engineering procedures.
Meanwhile, Honorable McIntyre says government will also be commencing work on the Wotten Waven to Roseau and Trafalgar to Wotten Waven roads.
According to him, these roads are very critical to road users, especially as it is widely used to transport visitors to tourist sites located at both Wotten Waven and Trafalgar.
