The NYC to host an island wide HIV/AIDS Campaign this weekend
As part of their efforts to increase awareness on HIV/AIDS, the National Youth Council (NYC) has partnered with the National HIV/AIDS Coordinating Unit to conduct an island wide HIV/AIDS campaign, this Saturday.
Executive members from both organizations will be traveling across the island, sensitizing the general public, through the distribution of Pamphlets, posters and condoms.
President of the National Youth Council Delroy Williams says the campaign which is dubbed “Drive Thru” will begin in the town of Roseau.
He says the general public, especially the youth, will receive an opportunity to dialogue with members of the NYC on certain pertinent issues of concern such as ‘youth and their sexuality.’
According to Williams, the team will be ably supported by members of various youth groups from the Southern District.
World AIDS Day was observed yesterday, December 1st, under the theme “‘Universal Access and Human Rights: your right to know, your right to treatment, do something about it’.”
