The Office of Disaster Management says a recent tremor poses no threat to Dominica
Officials at the Disaster Management Office have confirmed that a recent tremor felt in Dominica on August 29th, 2010 poses no threats to citizens.
According to the Director of the Office of Disaster Management, Mr Nathaniel Isaac, the tremor was located at latitude 15.329 degrees north and longtitude 61.261 degrees west.
He said that its magnitude was 2.7 and was recorded at a depth of 8.1 kilometers. Based on reports the Several persons around the island have reported that the tremor was felt heavier in certain parts of the island.
The tremor, which lasted just about 5 seconds, was felt at approximately 9:50pm during winds and showers caused by Hurricane Earl.
