The Project Management Unit of the WNTP hands over the marketing responsibilities of the project
The Project Management Unit (PMU) of the Waitukubuli National Trail Project (WNTP) officially handed over the marketing responsibilities of the trail to Discover Dominica Authority (DDA); the marketing arm of the nature island of the Caribbean on Friday January 21st, 2011.
Head of marketing at Discover Dominica Authority Miss Elizabeth Wayland said that Discover Dominica Authority is delighted as this signifies the near completion of the entire trail.
During the development phase, both entities; the Waitukubuli National Trail Project Management Unit and Discover Dominica Authority worked together in facilitating several press visits, where regional and international journalists took tours of various segments after which they wrote numerous articles on the trail, which has already resulted in an influx of visitors.
Mindful that the trail in itself is the actual attraction, the WaituKubuli National Trail Project Technical Advisory Committee has been exploring management related matters that will have a positive impact on the visitor experience.
Miss Wayland said that this will be pursued as part of the ongoing activities in development of the trail in collaboration with key partners, including Discover Dominica Authority, the Forestry, Wildlife and National Parks Division, respective communities along the trail and tourism service providers.
